What are the perks of working with a travel agent?
The most important perk is that I handle all the details for you. I really mean my tagline—a vacation you can just show up to. You tell me your budget, overall vibe, and other important details, and then I dig into the research.
Occasionally, you will have to book something on your own because they don’t allow third-party booking agents. But I will set you up for success and make it easy.
Once you’re on your trip I am also a resource if problems come up.
Why is booking a trip free, but itinerary planning isn’t?
When I book your trip, I am paid a commission directly by the vacation supplier. The supplier is willing to lose a little money by letting customers book through me instead of booking directly because it drives more business their way.
When you book your own vacation but only need me to plan your daily itinerary, I don’t make a commission. Planning takes hours of research and thought, so I charge a fee equal to the amount of work I am putting into the activity.
How can you book a trip to a place you’ve never been?
I am really good at researching. I synthesize a lot of information and various opinions and am confident in what I recommend, even if I have never experienced it. Everywhere I have been was a first visit at one point, and every trip I have taken has been excellent.
I am also part of a community of other travel advisors whom I can bounce ideas off. If I am unsure about a recommendation after all of my research, I can easily find another agent who has been on the same vacation and get their feedback.
Do you book Disney Vacations?
Yes! I am an approved Disney Travel Agent. Not only do I have the necessary approvals, but I have also been on dozens of my own Disney trips. I know the Disney travel universe well.
I can help you with Disney theme park vacations and cruise bookings.
What does the travel planning process look like?
When you initially reach out, I respond with an email. In that email, I give you the option to work with me primarily over email or to set up a phone or video call to gather your information.
If you haven’t picked your destination yet, I will present you with three options. Once a destination is settled, I will put together a proposal for travel booking clients. For itinerary-only clients, I will immediately start working on your itinerary and email you a polished draft for comment before finalizing.
Are there any clients you don’t work with?
I won’t work with anyone who blatantly disrespects me. Beyond that, I have worked with clients of all ages and backgrounds.
My current lived experience makes me a great resource for booking family vacations, but I have ample experience planning adult-only trips, multi-generational family vacations, and more.
Does booking a trip with you guarantee the lowest price?
In most cases, I can offer the lowest price or one equal to what you can book on your own. Sometimes the suppliers I use will have a slightly higher price than other vacation vendors or booking directly.
When my price isn’t the lowest, it is important to remember that there are other benefits to using a travel agent that don’t come with booking on your own. While you might pay a few hundred dollars extra in the long run, you will also have fewer headaches and be able to turn over the mental load to me.
Do you ever lead trips?
Yes! I am currently planning on leading a women-only Adult Study Abroad-themed trip to Prague and Vienna in October 2026. Registration opens at the end of March. You can find more information about the trip here.
My hope is to lead one or two trips a year while my kids are young and gradually expand the number of vacations and retreats I lead as they grow up.
Do you offer refunds?
Clients who book a vacation through me are often entitled to cancellation refunds per the supplier’s guidelines. I will make you aware of the refund policy before booking. Policies vary, and some things will never be refundable, so I always encourage booking travel insurance (I can help with this).
I do not offer itinerary planning refunds. I will make changes and work with you to perfect it, but I don’t offer refunds.
